My Review
A story told through the eyes of three people. Avery, his wife Alicia and Avery's mother Ella Joyce. Avery and Alicia seem to have the perfect marriage, but unbeknownst to the out side world, Avery not being healed from past demons has made him an abuser. One of the most heart wrenching and accurate portrayals of domestic violence. I was glad Alicia changed and grew into her own woman, and for a small fraction of a second, I felt sorry for Avery.
The story brought out so many feelings, I shed tears several times. The story also makes a point that things are not always what they seem. And also makes a point to question when you should leave an unhealthy situation for your own health. And I wasn't expecting that shocking ending. I am eagerly excited to see what happens to Avery's best friend in the second book.
