New Month, New Releases

As we enter the last month of the year, I'm excited to bring you some of the new releases that have come out over the last couple of weeks. They will be divided into 3 sections, Christian/Clean Fiction, Children's reads and African American Fiction/Romance. Enjoy

1) Mama B: A Time for Peace by Michelle Stimpson

Now any one that knows me well will tell you I am a huge Mama B Fan. And to hear that Michelle has come out with a new book has got me so ecstatic that I'm dancing (and I have no rhythm at all so that tells you how excited I am.)

About the Book

One of the most beloved characters in Christian fiction is back, and Mama B's having a time keeping her attitude in check at a beachfront wedding. For her husband's sake, Mama B tries to keep her mouth shut about the couple's obvious differences, but how is that possible when the bride is young enough to be the groom's child? And speaking of children, Mama B's got a problem with her oldest son, who has been slacking on his landlord duties. Is it time to sell the house or does she need to have a good, long talk and let him know how the cow ate the cabbage?

Kennedy didn't want to invite her sister, Whitney, to the wedding because Whitney always steals the show. This wedding weekend will put their sisterhood to the test, and Mama B is just the person to help them through...if Mama B can stop feuding with her own family long enough to hear God's voice in the midst.

Mama B is a fun, witty, wisdom-filled character whose southern charm will win over lovers of Christian fiction.

About the Book

World-renowned photographer, Parker Anderson, has his annual shoot and exhibit coming up during New York’s fashion week. While he’s known to make any subject or setting he captures come alive, no ordinary model will do for him. There’s just one hiccup to making the concept for his annual spread transition from a dream to reality; Liv Summers won’t agree to do it. 3) Samson's Issues - The Nazarites (A spirit Mate Love Story and Paranormal Romance Book 25) by EJ Brock

Now, Miss. Eva doesn't write your typical Christian Fiction. Her books are considered Paranormal, because it deals with the Biblical Spiritual world, so, even though her books are good, they're not for everyone.

13) Flying Blind by Dave Jackson

Dave and Neta Jackson are the only non African American Christian Fiction authors I buy from. The reason is that they have a multitude of characters of different races, and they have tackled some topics in the Black community that other non African American have attempted to do, and they do it so well.

About the Book
How can a blind pilot rescue a kidnapped nurse from desperate guerillas?

Nick Archer was a bush pilot for the Missionary Aviation Support Team when the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) attacked Finca Fe, a boarding school for missionary kids, expats, and various local children situated along the Magdalena River in remote south-central Colombia. Nick and his plane were stationed there, but he escaped capture and injury. However, Terri Kaplan, the school nurse, was kidnapped along with two other staff members, one of whom was later killed while the other escaped.

Driven by his love for Terri, Nick ignores his diabetes and its threat to his eyesight while he risks everything to find Terri and rescue her from the jungle camp where the FARC has taken her to attend to their wounded. Duplicity by the CIA and pressure from the United States on the Colombian government to curtail the rampant cocaine trade turn Nick’s rescue efforts into a total disaster.

Complicating their crises are spiritual battles: Terri becomes confused about what she should do when she actually has a chance to escape, and Nick wonders where God is or if He even exists when God does not seem to answer any of his prayers.

When Nick loses his vision from neglecting his eye problems at the very moment he has a chance to save Terri, he ends up flying blind!

About the Book
Featuring forty trailblazing black women in American history, Little Leaders educates and inspires as it relates true stories of breaking boundaries and achieving beyond expectations. Among these biographies, readers will find heroes, role models, and everyday women who did extraordinary things - bold women whose actions and beliefs contributed to making the world better for generations of girls and women to come. Whether they were putting pen to paper, soaring through the air or speaking up for the rights of others, the women profiled in these pages were all taking a stand against a world that didn't always accept them.

The leaders in this book may be little, but they all did something big and amazing, inspiring generations to come.

9) The Last Black Unicorn by Tiffany Haddish

About the Book
From stand-up comedian, actress, and breakout star of Girls Trip, Tiffany Haddish, comes The Last Black Unicorn, a sidesplitting, hysterical, edgy, and unflinching collection of (extremely) personal essays, as fearless as the author herself.

Growing up in one of the poorest neighborhoods of South Central Los Angeles, Tiffany learned to survive by making people laugh. If she could do that, then her classmates would let her copy their homework, the other foster kids she lived with wouldn’t beat her up, and she might even get a boyfriend. Or at least she could make enough money—as the paid school mascot and in-demand Bar Mitzvah hype woman—to get her hair and nails done, so then she might get a boyfriend.

None of that worked (and she’s still single), but it allowed Tiffany to imagine a place for herself where she could do something she loved for a living: comedy.

Tiffany can’t avoid being funny—it’s just who she is, whether she’s plotting shocking, jaw-dropping revenge on an ex-boyfriend or learning how to handle her newfound fame despite still having a broke person’s mind-set. Finally poised to become a household name, she recounts with heart and humor how she came from nothing and nowhere to achieve her dreams by owning, sharing, and using her pain to heal others.

By turns hilarious, filthy, and brutally honest, The Last Black Unicorn shows the world who Tiffany Haddish really is—humble, grateful, down-to-earth, and funny as hell. And now, she’s ready to inspire others through the power of laughter.
